Bonded Wearing Course (BWC) surface treatments are now produced by Geneva Rock Products

UDOT commissioned Geneva Rock to rotomill out 1-1/2″ of existing asphalt on I-15 and replace with 1″ of Bonded Wearing Course (BWC) sprayed onto the pavement. Geneva Rock is the first company to use the Roadtec Spray Paver in Utah. BWC is an industry-leading technology that delivers a durable, open-graded, drainable surface with a lifespan of 10+ years. Additionally, this project required adding 33 signs and replaced 4 overhead signs. The project required a repave of the full width of I-15 north and south for 7.5 miles. The most challenging aspect of this project was traffic control with safety as a first priority in a short time frame.
