Geneva Rock and Syracuse City pitched in together to help Syracuse High School.  A concerned citizen approached Syracuse city recently about the lack of a safe access to the school for students who walk from the east. There is no sidewalk in that area, so students had to wander in the roadway or in the mud on the side of the road. The City didn’t have money allocated to provide materials to make it more accessible, but they offered to provide the labor and equipment if someone would donate the roadbase.

This same citizen approached Geneva Rock and asked if they would be willing and able to donate the necessary material; which they did. About a week and a half ago, Syracuse city built the temporary walkway along the side of the road so these students would feel more safe as they walked to school.
