Geneva Rock Outreach Programs
Geneva Rock Products is proud to take a very active role in community and state outreach efforts. Since our establishment 60 years ago, we have placed community donations and program sponsorship as a high priority. It is simply one of the ways we are committed to build better communities.
One example is Geneva Rock’s involvement with local schools. We are a regular participant in the “Touch a Truck” or “Vehicle Days” program. As part of the program, the company sends mixer trucks to elementary schools for students to see and learn about. The students also have a chance to interact with the driver. By participating in, and donating to this program, Geneva Rock teaches vehicle/pedestrian safety, as well as helping to raise awareness of good job opportunities in the construction industry.
Geneva Rock also participates in education and awareness programs for local jail and prison institutions. Our employees visit local jails and prisons to interact with and offer information to inmates. The company’s goal behind this program, is to demonstrate that after rehabilitation, jobs will be within the reach of any hard-working individual who desires to enter back into the workforce.
Geneva Rock seeks to promote the message that construction careers, from engineers and site superintendents, to driving a truck and running equipment can be great career choices for anyone in any stage of life.
Utah Transportation Coalition
Geneva Rock Products has joined the Utah Transportation Coalition. The coalition is a group of business and civic leaders concerned with Utah’s environment, economy and quality of life as Utah continues to grow. Our transportation system affects each of these things. The Coalition is advocating for a long-term funding solution for transportation. We need a plan to fund diverse needs from highways to walking trails and from transit service to bike paths.
We want our citizens to enjoy the best that life in Utah has to offer: good air quality, good health, a strong economy and well-paying jobs. We can shape the future of each of these things, in part, through investment in transportation. Learn more about the Utah transportation Coalition here.
Geneva Rock also participates heavily in charitable donations. In addition to annual donations for many good causes like Boy Scouts of America and city recreation departments, the company has donated concrete to:
- Prince of Peace Lutheran School
- Old West Days Celebration in Bluffdale
Geneva Rock also makes concrete donations to the American Concrete Institute to promote further concrete testing and inspection for industry research.
