NRMCA Announces Partnership with Newly Created Utah Ready Mix Association

Silver Spring, MD – October 4, 2017 – The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has announced a partnership with the newly formed Utah Ready Mixed Concrete Association (URMCA), a move that expands its relationships with local and state concrete- and industry-related trade associations throughout the United States.

URMCA was officially formed weeks ago, primarily through the efforts of founding – and NRMCA – members Metro Ready Mix, Geneva Rock, Staker Parsons, Altaview Concrete, Ashgrove Cement, Lafarge Holcim Cement and Mountain Cement. Leadership roles were taken by Chairman Jay Ritchie of Geneva Rock, Vice Chairman Scott Reynolds of Altaview Concrete and Secretary/Treasurer Matt Wood, Ashgrove Cement.

“We will promote ready mixed concrete throughout the state of Utah by marketing ready mix applications to architects, engineers, contractors, departments of transportation, economic development partnerships, state legislators and private developers,” stated Ritchie. “We’ll also provide technical resources such as training seminars, workshops, certifications and recognition ceremonies relating to all ready mixed concrete applications.”

Ritchie also stressed the need for URMCA members to coordinate activities for lobbyists in their efforts to educate state legislators and regulatory agencies that affect the ready mix industry. Members will also seek to build coalitions with other material producers and aligned industry associations while striving to elevate and maximize the promotion of ready mix concrete.

NRMCA’s working relationship with URMCA is only the latest example of national, regional and state leaders working together toward the common goal of making ready mixed concrete the building material of choice across all sectors of the build environment (click here to view the state and area associations that partner with NRMCA).

“We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with our colleagues in Utah,” said NRMCA President Robert Garbini. “Only by working closely and effectively with each of these local, state and regional ready mix associations can we maximize ready mixed concrete’s market share in an increasingly competitive building materials market. I have known Jay, Scott and Matt for many years and each brings unquestioned talent and experience that has benefited NRMCA. They and their colleagues will certainly make URMCA an invaluable organization for the state’s ready mixed concrete-related business.”

NRMCA is celebrating its 87th year of representing the producers of ready mixed concrete and the companies that provide materials, equipment and support to the industry. It
conducts education, training, promotion, research, engineering, safety, environmental, technological, lobbying and regulatory programs. Learn more at www.nrmca.org.
