Utah Asphalt Microsurfacing
Microsurfacing is the Cost Effective Road Treatment
At Geneva Rock, we have the experience, equipment and expertise needed to perform microsurfacing for any Utah project – large or small.
Microsurfacing has many benefits and can remedy a broad range of problems on today’s roadways. A relatively new technology, microsurfacing is recognized as a cost-effective way to treat a variety of road surface problems. Microsurfacing is comprised of aggregate, polymer modified emulsion, water, cement, and additive (aluminum sulfate), all of which have to be precise in ratio.
The system uses specialty live bottom nurse trucks with two tanks mounted on each side for water and emulsion. In a cost-saving measure, Sunroc lumber delivery trucks were used and retrofitted with a live bottom conveyor system. Geneva’s Berkamp M1(E) paver is the second of its kind built in the U.S. and uses a EMCAD system (electronic monitoring computer controlled) for all calibrations, rationing, and mixing, making us uniquely equipped to address any microsurfacing project.
