Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Joins with Geneva Rock and Sunroc Building Materials to Build a Dream Home in Daybreak for a Utah Family

Utah-based companies to contribute labor and materials to help finish the project

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – June 24, 2011– From foundation to shingles in just one week, a South Jordan family will soon call a brand-new house in Daybreak “home.” Geneva Rock today announced they have joined with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition construction team and Sunroc Building Materials to help make this home a reality – and construction kicks off today.

Together with several valued partners/vendors, Geneva Rock and Sunroc are contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of supplies, amassing the bulk of the building materials necessary for the structure. With hundreds of man-hours crammed into only a few short days, teams of construction workers will be working around the clock to erect the home throughout the week.

Geneva Rock, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clyde Companies Inc., is donating all of the concrete, more than 300 cubic yards, for theExtreme Makeover project. Donated materials include foundation material (including anchor bolts, hold-downs and rebar), insulation, lumber, plus a variety of finish material including all exterior doors, interior doors, trim, and windows.

“It’s overwhelming to see such a tremendous donation for this family,” said Diane Korman, senior producer for Extreme Makeover. “A construction project of this magnitude would simply be impossible without the help of local companies like Sunroc and Geneva Rock. We are just so thankful for their contributions.”

In addition to providing the supplies, Sunroc, and several of its subcontractors are also donating their time and labor to help frame the home. Because of the nature of the project, the framing has to be completed in less than 12 hours.

“We have partnered with Sunroc for years and they are simply the best supplier we’ve ever worked with,” said Patrick Holmes, owner of Holmes Homes, which is part of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team. “For Sunroc to step up to the plate for this job in such an impressive way is astounding. We’re very grateful to have them on board.”
