Morgan, Utah, a small community tucked away in Weber Canyon, is home to three Geneva Rock facilities that serve a large portion of North-ern Utah. Many of us who work here have grown up in this area and love living here. Working at Geneva Rock has given us the opportunity to give back in Morgan as part of a larger initiative to “build better communities” throughout Utah.

Giving Back to Students

One way that Geneva Rock gives back is through education. We have developed relationships with the administration and faculty at Morgan High School. In 2017 and 2018, Geneva Rock was a sponsor for the Morgan Education Foundation Golf Tournament. The Morgan Education Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization that is focused on enhancing the educational experience of students enrolled in Morgan School District.

Four years ago, we started a Geneva Rock scholarship program that awards $2,500 each year to a deserving student. One of the scholarship recipients now works for us while continuing his education at a local college.

Since 2016, the athletics program has received $1,000 per year to sponsor the boys and girls basketball teams. We donated hurdles to the track team and also donated to the football team. If you ever attend a Trojans game at Morgan High School, you may notice the large inflatable football helmet used by the team, which Geneva Rock donated in 2016 to show our commitment to the school and promote school spirit.

Giving Back to the Community

As members of the Morgan Area Chamber of Commerce, we work with other businesses and sponsor chamber events to help grow Morgan’s economy.

We have sponsored golf tournaments, the 4th of July celebration, the boat regatta, and the rodeo. In 2017, Geneva Rock donated $12,000 in materials and services to pave the fairgrounds trail where vendors set up for the 4th of July festivities.

Last year, Geneva Rock President, Jim Golding, attended the junior livestock show and purchased a steer that was later processed and donated to the Utah Food Bank. This year, at the President’s request, we purchased another steer and made another donation to the Utah Food Bank.

Building Pride

At Geneva Rock Products, we take an active role in giving back to the people we serve in the state of Utah. It’s one way that we show thanks to the people who have given us so much. We take great satisfaction in the fact that our company empowers us to make a difference where we live and work.

Morgan, Utah, is one of hundreds of examples of the many ways in which Geneva Rock is actively engaged in building better communities.
