Geneva Rock was recently recognized by the Utah Asphalt Pavement Association with the Small Asphalt Project of the Year Award for its work on the 2400 East and 2400 South corridor project in Heber, Utah. The $2.13 million UDOT project improved safety, capacity and long-term pavement performance along the corridor and is a great example of the quality work our teams are known for.

Completed between August and October 2025, the project included roadway widening with six-foot shoulders, a two-inch HMA overlay, structural base improvements, drainage work, utility coordination, new signage and striping. Geneva Rock placed 7,842 tons of asphalt and completed the work on schedule with zero accidents, zero lost-time incidents and zero reportable safety events.

“We had a really solid team on this job and worked closely with UDOT’s engineer, and that showed from start to finish,” said Chris Alvez, Project Manager at Geneva Rock. “There was a lot of coordination involved, but people stayed focused, worked hard and took pride in doing the job right. It’s great to see that effort recognized.”

We’re proud of everyone who helped make this project a success and grateful to see the team’s work honored in this way. Congratulations to all involved!
