We’re proud of our Geneva Rock team for the great work they do, but also for the way they give back to the community. Shayne Anderson, a mixer driver who’s been with us for 16 years, is a perfect example of someone who genuinely cares.

Shayne’s passion for fishing and love for the outdoors naturally led him to Fish for Garbage, a nonprofit focused on cleaning up Utah’s waterways and educating communities about environmental responsibility. Shayne joined about five years ago, and his enthusiasm quickly earned him a role on their board of directors, where he’s served for three years.

“We organize three to six cleanups a year across Utah, and every year more people get involved,” Shayne explained. Last year alone, 405 volunteers cleaned up an incredible 14,360 pounds of trash from the Provo River. Amazingly, this year the same number of volunteers collected nearly 13,000 pounds of garbage in just three hours.

“It’s honestly pretty sad when you stop to think about how much trash we find in such a short amount of time,” Shayne noted. But he also finds inspiration in the growing number of volunteers who want to help. “Seeing everyone come together to make a difference is truly encouraging,” he said.

Shayne brings that same positive spirit and dedication to his work at Geneva Rock. As a mixer driver, he enjoys the independence and variety his job offers. “Every load is like a new adventure,” Shayne said. “I get to see unique places and meet great people—something most folks never experience.” He often shares these special moments on social media, offering others a behind-the-scenes look at his daily adventures.

Shayne has stayed at Geneva Rock all these years because of the company’s values and the strong relationships he’s built. “I love the way we operate here. We always give our best effort, and customers recognize and appreciate our professionalism. It makes me proud to be part of this team,” he explained. Shayne has even formed lasting friendships with many customers, enjoying outdoor activities like hunting and fishing together in his free time.

For Shayne, working at Geneva Rock means being part of something bigger—delivering quality work, building strong connections and giving back in ways that truly matter.
