Geneva Rock is excited to introduce Lauren Eifert as the Fall 2024 scholarship recipient! A senior at Brigham Young University studying civil engineering, Lauren has a passion for creating projects that make a difference in her community.

“The satisfaction that comes with accomplishing something and seeing a project completed is unlike any other feeling,” Lauren shared. “I love driving on a newly paved road or pointing out a project I contributed to. But even more rewarding is knowing my work helps improve our community—whether it’s roads, airports or bridges. That’s what drives me every day.”

Lauren’s love for hands-on work led her to join the BYU Concrete Canoe Team during her freshman year. “Building a concrete canoe is such a rewarding process,” she said. “From testing mixes to casting and racing the canoe, every step is hands-on and challenging. Seeing it all come together is an incredible feeling.”

Her internships with the Iowa Department of Transportation and here at Geneva Rock have been instrumental in her workforce development. “At Geneva Rock, I see how a project comes together from start to finish,” Lauren said. “I love thinking through the logistics, creating estimates and watching the plans come to life.”

Looking ahead, Lauren hopes to become a project manager. “I love the mix of teamwork, problem-solving and leadership,” she said. “This career isn’t what I originally imagined, but it’s so much better. I’m excited to see where it takes me.”

We’re proud to support Lauren’s education and can’t wait to see all she’ll accomplish in the construction industry!
