Key Executive at Clyde Companies to Retire at End of Year
Industry Giant Al Schellenberg Leaves a Lasting Legacy after Forty Years in the Industry
OREM, Utah – December 8, 2011 – Clyde Companies Inc. today announced that the Executive Vice President of the Clyde Companies and President of W. W. Clyde & Co., Albert T. Schellenberg will retire at the end of the year having served in several key roles in the organization for almost forty years.
Taking over as Executive Vice President of Clyde Companies is Rhys Weaver who has been working as a Vice President of the Clyde Companies. He brings a wealth of experience and business acumen to the position and will also continue in his role as President of Sunroc Corporation, a subsidiary of Clyde Companies.  Jeffrey R. Clyde, Vice President, at W. W. Clyde &Co. will become the new President of that company.
Schellenberg joined Geneva Rock, another subsidiary of Clyde Companies, in 1972 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Brigham Young University. He held various positions at Geneva Rock which included Estimator, Construction Manager, and Vice President and was appointed President of Geneva Rock in May of 2001.  While Schellenberg was President, Geneva Rock grew rapidly and continued its reputation as a premier construction materials supplier and contractor.  He later became the Executive Vice President of Clyde Companies and the President of W. W. Clyde & Co.
 “While I’ve been here I have made many life-long friends whose friendship I will always treasure,” said Al Schellenberg. “I have also gained a great respect for the importance of every employee in making a complete and successful company.”
He has been an important influence in the construction industry throughout the state and has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Utah Chapter of the Associated General Contractors. Schellenberg has also served on the Highland City Planning Commission, Highland Water Company Board of Directors, and on the Highland City Water Advisory Committee. He has always been willing to get involved in the community and make it a better place to live.
