Melissa Mickelsen, credit manager at Geneva Rock, has been recognized as the National Association of Credit Management (NACM) Credit Executive of the Year, solidifying her reputation as a respected industry leader. The prestigious award ceremony took place on June 2 in Murray, Utah, and was hosted by the NACM affiliate for the state of Utah, the National Association of Credit Management Business Credit Services

The honorees for this accolade are selected by a panel of previous recipients, who evaluate candidates based on their standing in the credit community and their contributions to both their employers and the association.

Expressing her gratitude, Melissa said, “I feel very honored to have received this award. I am surrounded by so many great credit professionals at Geneva Rock, Clyde Companies, and through my association with NACM. I’ve learned so much from their expertise, examples, and friendships. Working as a credit manager appeals to my detail-oriented nature, and I really enjoy working with Geneva Rock’s project managers, salespeople, and customers.”

Melissa also emphasized the importance of the NACM, stating, “NACM is a wonderful organization that provides valuable information along with educational and networking opportunities. My participation with NACM has allowed me to earn professional designations, serve, and grow as a credit professional.”

With an impressive tenure of 20 years at Geneva Rock, Melissa began her career in accounts receivable before transitioning to the credit department and eventually assuming the role of credit manager. In addition to her responsibilities as a credit manager, Melissa serves as the Geneva Rock President Jay Ritchie’s executive assistant.

Melissa’s recognition as the NACM Credit Executive of the Year highlights her exceptional contributions to the field of credit management. This includes her leadership as the chair of the Publications Committee of the NACM and her contributions to the CreditWise newsletter. Her commitment to professional growth and dedication to delivering outstanding service have positioned her for continued success in her career.

Shane Inglesby, corporate credit manager, agrees, stating, “Melissa is a very deserving recipient of this honor. The level of professionalism she brings to any task or assignment is truly exceptional. She has long been held in high regard within the credit community and within Clyde Companies. Receiving this award is a high honor that acknowledges the contribution Melissa brings as a credit manager to our company and to NACM.”
