Mass grading the Delta Municipal Airport

The Delta City Municipal Airport reconstruction consisted of extensive reconstruction for both the taxiway and runway, as well as repair the lighting on the taxiway and runway. The main issue on this project was repairing a line of site problem experienced by airplane pilots due to the existing curvature of the runway from years of expansion under the runway. After milling and removing the existing runway asphalt, our team was able to regrade and replace the base fill eliminating the curve. With the newly graded surface, the runway reclaimed 500 feet of length that was lost to the expanding curvature over the length of the runway.

For the reconstruction portion of the runway and taxiway, 130,000 square yards of Full Depth Reclamation Base was placed, 21,000 Tons of Hot Mix Asphalt and 100,000 cubic yards of Cut to Fill.
